Hello friends, welcome back to my Crafty Lounge. It’s Alex, and it’s been a while since I’ve last posted. First off, I resigned from FSJ a couple months ago. I know, big change for me but it was definitely the right decision for me. Lately, I’ve been destashing and working on organizing my craft room with a little bit of crafting here and there.
I’ve been anxiously waiting for my friend Richard Garay to launch his stamp and papers from RG Studio 360. The good news is that the day has finally come. I am currently in the lobby of the hotel for the RISE event that takes place tomorrow here in Scottsdale, Arizona. I am so incredibly happy and blessed to be able to be here by Richard and Gabby’s side supporting them on this great adventure.
I look forward to the days ahead and my new crafty adventures with RG Studio 360. I’ve already started to form a team, we’re called the Studio Squad. If you’re interested in learning more about this and the Certified Studio Designer opportunity, contact me directly. I’m on Facebook at http://www.Facebook.com/CraftyLounge or Instagram at @alex_stamps
Can’t wait to share more about this new adventure.
Hi Stampers, i’m back with a cute gift giving idea for the Holidays. I know it’s only July, but the holidays will be here before you know it. July is a perfect time to get started.
So I want to share a really quick an easy project I created for a crop/class event I am a part of called “Coffee and Crafts”. Since theme was Christmas in July, I knew the perfect stamp set to use. Our new bloom benefit stamp called “Christmas Mug” out of our Holiday Mini catalog. It’s a set of 2 stamps, a “Merry Christmas” sentiment and a coffee mug that has a coordinating die set. This stamp set along with the die cut can be earned for FREE by purchasing $50 of Fun Stampers Journey products out of our Annual Inspiration and Catalog book or our Holiday Mini Catalog. Isn’t it adorable and perfect for the Holidays? You can create a little gift pack with hot cocoa, marshmallows and a gift card to your favorite coffee shop. I just love it!
Below are some photos from the event. I was able to craft and meet new friends. I also was joined by some of my team of Fun Stamping Divas. It’s always great when I get to share the journey with some friends.

Make today Simply Amazing! I had an amazing time at our annual Fun Stampers Journey convention last week and I finally got to play with some of our new products releasing on July 1st.
For this card I used a dry water coloring technique using stamps and our new pan pastels. First I stamped in black licorice ink using our new Peach Blossom stamp set. Then, I used our Rich Sorbets pan pastel palette to further enhance the water coloring feel. I used our clear pigment ink to stamp the Simply Amazing sentiment from our Be Amazing collection and gold embossing powder to get the gilded effect. Hope you like it!
If you’re interested in any of the products I used, please let me know. Our new 2016-2017 Inspiration Book and Catalog launches on July 1st, 2016. I cannot wait!!!

Here are a few cards using some of our retiring stamps and printed paper.
Today’s cards were quick and fun. I took advantage of our Lucky Me promotion going on this month and used 2 shades of our GREEN cardstock (Limeade Splash, Kiwi Slice) which is 20% off this month. I used my Green Cheers and Happy Day stamp sets for the front of the cards. I also used our Kiwi Slice true fusion ink to stamp the image. Our Heart of Gold Elements were perfect to make a shamrock on my card with the whip cream cardstock base. Our journey thread, rainbow drops and star elements also helped me embellish the cards. I shared these quick and easy cards with my co-workers today and they loved them! I love sharing my hand made creations with others and invite you to spread the same cheer.
Visit my website to shop the Lucky Me promotion, where thin metal dies, green cardstock, St. Paddy’s Day stamp sets and more is on sale for 20% off this month only.
This past weekend I had an amazing time at Yummy and Delicious in Arizona with the Fun Stampers Journey family. It was the first stop of the 6 city tour and I was fortunate enough to attend with friends. I wanted to really have some fun photos to share for my scrapbook layouts so I decided to dress up a wooden “&” symbol to use as a prop for my photos. I also thought I would incorporate the “&” sign into my Yummy & Delicious ensemble.
Since I was inspired by Richard’s monogram letter YouTube video, I decided to use that inspiration for my Yummy & Delicious ensemble. I used my Spring Blooms die cut to decorate and layer the & sign for Richard and friends to hold at the Yummy & Delicious event. My friend Rachael was able to attend with me and we decided to have her husband make us some Yummy & Delicious shirts. My friend Rachael dressed as “Delicious”, while I was dressed as “Yummy”. The Spring Blooms I die cut, covered the “&” sign which served as the perfect prop to take a picture with Richard at the event. Our outfits and prop were such a hit that we even won the photo contest for the event. I received a set of Yummy & Delicious pins which I gave to my friend Rachael for attending the event with me. I also purchased a set of pins for myself. I have to keep my Fun Stampers Journey pin collection going.
We made four yummy and delicious projects and learned lots of new techniques that didn’t require any special tools. The projects presented were so much fun and I cannot wait until the full reveal of new products in our June catalog at the first annual Fun Stampers Journey convention.
Below, I included a picture of 2 of the projects we made at Yummy & Delicious. I’ll be posting more photos from my Yummy & Delicious day on my blog later this week. You can also find more photos by searching the hashtag: #YummyAndDeliciousPHX. To attend a Yummy & Delicious tour event, visit my website and click on events. http://www.funstampersjourney.com/39
After watching Richard’s Easter Basket Make Live Share project video, I was inspired. We all have busy lives and sometimes simplicity is what we need. I have been wanting to participate by Making, Living and Sharing a project. The instructions in the YouTube video really showed exactly how easy the basket is to make and I took the opportunity to duplicate it.
I got started by trimming my 12 by 12 paper down to 6 by 6 squares. I then made score lines at 2 inch marks, made my cuts and got ready to stamp. I used the graduated background stamp for a subtle stamped look. Since I did not have any Easter stamps yet, I used my Spring Blooms die cuts to make some Spring flowers to decorate my box.
I wanted to make these baskets for my twin nephews Jeremiah and Jacob, they are 2 and half years old. They absolutely love chocolate and candy treats and they love when I make them hand made gifts. It makes me happy to see the smiles on their face and get a heartfelt thank you for my hand made gifts.
After I made the beautiful baskets, I had to drop them off at my sisters as I left on my way to Arizona for the Yummy & Delicious event. I will also be posting photos on my blog from that event.
I asked my sister to take some pictures of my nephews with their lovely baskets I made. My sister loves taking photos of my nephews in her studio but they apparently were a little impatient and really wanted to open their candy. Jeremiah was not happy having to wait before he could grab his basket. Here’s an adorable picture of his mini-meltdown. The boys just loved their baskets and searching inside them for their treats. Looks like Jacob got to the candy and has a mouthful!
Have your heard of Fun Stampers Journey? It is a new stamping company that I am a part of and I would love to have you on my team. We sell beautiful stamps and many have coordinating dies made by Spellbinders.

I was part of a rainbow swap in which 6 of us were each assigned a color. My color was green and boy was it a challenge. I don’t usually create using green as my main color. I tend to lean towards pinks or blues so this was quiet the challenge for me.
I had just recently purchased a set of butterfly stamps with matching dies from Fun Stampers Journey. I fell in love with the detail of the butterflies and knew I wanted to use them ASAP!!! So I decided I would create green butterflies and use them for my ATC set.
I grabbed some Whip Cream card stock and started to stamp my images in Black Licorice and Limeade Splash. I then secured the die cuts to the paper using washi tape for quick and easy removal.
Here are all of my beautiful butterflies cut out so crisp and perfectly. I don’t mind fussy cutting but when a die set is available I make use of it!
So I used a background paper from a paper pack I had and decided to stamp and cut out butterflies for my swap.
After applying Journey Glaze onto my butterflies I applied them to my ATC backgrounds with pop dots and here is the final result. Hope you like them as much as I did.
